Building poverty

Good intentions can ensure that money and resources are allocated to solve the problems of the poor, but poor design and implementation can foil good will.

Whether designing and building housing for Indigenous Australians in remote regions or spending aid money allocated to building, more humble, toilets in work overseas – there are examples of building poverty. Only by understanding the mechanisms behind this apparent paradox can we ensure it does occur.
